blow dry bars

A trend thats gaining popularity especially in USA, Canada and Australia, is the concept of blow dry bars. As the name suggests, you walk in get a quick hair job and go out, no more waiting in long queues for something that doesn't take more than 10 minutes! The downside though, is I think most Indian women see a visit to the salon as a long affair. I personally quite like the idea even though I've got like 2 blow drys done in my entire life!

Do you see this concept working in India?

Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor Review

Hello lovelies!

Sorry for being MIA. I've been busy with a wedding, Diwali spring cleaning, parties, and also being plain lazy! I've got a lot of reviews lined up, so if you see me posting one link after the other, please don't report me as spam! I'm going to start out with a lipper that has been my soulmate this festive season--Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor in Infinite Apricot!

The package says: "Advanced Colorstay formula with SoftFlex Technology provides 16 hours of comfortable color. No touch-ups needed- even after meals. Topcoat enriched with 99% moisture, chamomile and soy extract keeps lips comfortable and delivers the shiniest shine."

A brown-peach ish shade, its one of those colours that pairs well with Indian outfits, and is a great catch for the festive season!

Please excuse the terrible picture quality, I cut it out from a picture I'd clicked with my crappy Blackberry camera!

Pros:

- I like the fact that the gloss is not goopy, but a light formula that really does sit put on your lips, two coats of the top coat, and my lips were all shiny.
- I'm not sure if the formula lasts as long as it claims, but it definitely lasts as long as you want it to, because even after 6 hours, I needed to use baby oil to get it off.
- Very handy. Its earned a spot in my go-to make-up bag!

Cons:

- Its a little pricey at Rs 875
- Dries out your lips a bit, so you'll need to use a lip balm so your lips can recover (which isn't really a deal breaker for me!)

Overall rating: 4.5/5
Will I purchase again? Definitly! Maybe a brighter colour! I've been thinking about trying out orange, but I'm pretty broke this month :P.
Have you tried this lippy? What are your thoughts?

Banging hair

Hello lovelies!

How many times have you been fooled by an advertisement where the model applies one awesome shampoo, conditioner or serum, and her hair looked like it was taken care of by angels? I, for one, cannot even count the number of products I've bought hoping my hair would look even remotely as good. Now, let me give a little background. I have curly hair, like crazy-gotamindofit'sown-demands-its-own-citizenship crazy. And maintaining it is quite the bitch since curly hair can get very dry. So in order to tame it, I've experimented with all sorts of goop to make it look presentable, and that has resulted in a stash that is big enough to give a beauty closet at a magazine a run for its money!

I was out shopping on a particularly bad hair day, when the SA at Kiehl's looked at me sympathetically and recommended the Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak. I figured it was worth a shot considering I had heard such rave reviews about the brand, and even though its pretty pricey, I decided to treat myself to it ( Like I do, almost every time :P).

Pros:

- My hair felt soft, smooth and very moisturised after the first wash
- My curls were more manage-able
- Left my hair looking shiny, and I didn't even need to use a serum!

Cons:

- It smells a little cough syrup-y. The good part is that the scent doesn't linger after you've washed off the product.
- Price. At 1,675 for 226 gms, its not exactly a budget buy!

My rating: 4.5/5

Will I purchase it again? Hell yeah! But I have a feeling this one's gonna last me a while, since I use it only on special occasions :P. Hey! I gotta save up to buy more, no?

Is there any hair product that you've used that'sHair given you fantastic results? I'd love to know!

Wonderstruck much?

Hello lovelies!

While I was whiling away time online, I stumbled upon a teaser campaign for Taylor Swift's new perfume Wonderstruck. Check it out!

As much as I love her dress (I'd wear something like that to my fantasy wedding), I'm not really feeling the video! It's pretty predictable, no? Fairytale romance et al... just what you'd expect from Taylor Swift! Her video didn't, but I'm waiting to see if her perfume will leave me wonderstruck :P.

One of my fave celeb scents is Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, I've already bought it a couple of times, and don't see this obsession ending anytime soon! Drop me a comment and tell me what your favourite is...

PS: Why am I getting flashbacks of her ditzy character from the movie Valentine's Day when she talks? Is it only me? Or do you agree?

Would you feel more secure if you had Pippa Middleton's butt?

This woman sure does... And she isn't alone! The latest surgery fad is Pippa's perky posterior! Check out this video for deets!
